In 2020 I had the massive privilege and opportunity to join The Domino Foundation as their Donor Relations and Marketing person! Fast forward 2 months …. COVID-19!!!! And I found myself deep in the heart of their Disaster Relief Unit work. Unbelievable work serving the team and building relief bucket upon bucket of stories of the chaos, confusion, collaboration and community that disaster brings.
We found an incredible ebb and flow of building relationships over donors and aligning with internal processes and structures in the ever-changing landscape that C-19 was creating.
Learning the intricate details of every programme within the Domino Foundation stable, enabled to me build onto the communication strategy for their Cradle to Career Lifecycle of every beneficiary, donor, volunteer and partner. This was such a rewarding process and I credit Shaun Tait, CEO of The Domino Foundation and my Donor Relations ally Tarin Stevenson as two significant arrows in my learning quiver.
Today I am a consultant in the capacity Marketing and Storyteller. It is such an honor to be on the team in a freelance capacity, as it has afforded me the flexibility of time, yet the benefit of building stories of hope, dignity and justice for and with the team and those people we have been called to serve.
